Make the word list in Excel. Let your kid study it like a game.

 If you have a school-age kid at home, you know the routine: the school hands out a weekly word list, store-bought word books never quite match what the class is actually studying, and somebody ends up quizzing the kid by hand at the dinner table.

TokTok Words is a free vocabulary app built around a simple split of roles: parents make the word list, kids play quizzes on it. You type the words or import an Excel file once, and the app turns them into seven different quiz games, collects the wrong answers automatically, and shows the study streak so the effort is visible.

How it works — 3 steps

1. Parents build the word book. Import an Excel file, type words by hand, or download a ready-made pack from the in-app Store (elementary English, multiplication tables, Thousand Characters, kanji, JLPT and more).
2. Kids study with quizzes. Seven game styles keep it from getting boring — multiple choice, typing, matching pairs, hidden matching, find the odd card, word building, and a vine-alpaca arcade game.
3. The wrong-answer notebook takes over. Every miss is collected, reviewable by period, and can be turned into a brand-new "wrong words only" word book.

Results you can actually use

After a quiz you get a score ring, a per-question breakdown, and a wrong-answer list showing exactly which words were missed and what was answered instead. Retrying just the wrong ones is one tap.

Streaks, grass, and gentle pressure

The Records tab shows a GitHub-style study grass, the current streak, total study time, and per-day summaries. For kids, seeing the grass fill up is surprisingly motivating — it turns "study today" into "don't break the streak."

4 tips to get more out of it

1. Keep the Excel file simple. One row per word — the word in one column, the meaning in the next, optionally a reading or an alternative meaning. Import it through the Excel wizard and the whole list becomes a quiz-ready word book in seconds.
2. Use the card view + audio for dead time. Every word book doubles as a flip-card viewer with text-to-speech. Waiting rooms, car rides — five minutes is enough. Add the home-screen widget and the words rotate without even opening the app.
3. Run the wrong-answer loop, not more quizzes. Quiz → check the wrong-answer notebook → make the "wrong words" word book → quiz again. Mastering the 20% they miss beats redoing the 80% they know.
4. Set the daily notification. One reminder at the same time each day is what turns the streak grass into a solid field.
